Ministries

Christian Education

This ministry, Sunday school, is one of the most vital ministries of the church, as this is usual the beginning teachings of the gospel to children. The coordinator ensures that all classes are working together, with the ultimate goal of teaching, speaking and hearing. This ministry is also very rewarding as the children move on to higher classes and eventually the adult class. The coordinator is responsible for trying to ensure that the teachers are regular and on time and if a teacher is not available then there is a substitute. Classes are divided based on different age groups catering to the young and old and teaching is based on the individual needs of each class.

Current Classes offered are:

2-5 years
6-8 years
9-12 years
13 – 18 years
Adult Class
New Christian Converts

Ushers and Greeters Ministry

Our ushers and greeters have been given privilege to glorify God by serving His people with gladness. Prayer and covering is the first order of business in our ministry, as we are the first to Greet every Soul that enters into the sanctuary that God has provided for His Worship and His Word. We seat visitors and members wherever they choose, for their comfort and humbly make ourselves available to meet any need that arises as we diligently keep watch over the Sanctuary. We would rather be doorkeepers in the House of the Lord, than to dwell in the tents of the wicked. To God be the Glory!

Childrens Church

The mission of the Children’s Church ministry is to enhance the lessons they learn in Christian Education. We aim to teach the children through music, stories, crafts and activities. A diverse team of leaders bring many different styles of teaching, all with the aim to show the information and fun that can be found in God’s Word! Children’s church begins right before the Pastor is about to bring forth his morning message, as children are summoned into the hall to begin their activities allowing parents to be able to fully take in the morning sermon.

ODCA Good News Club

In partnership with Child Evangelism Fellowship Bermuda, Open Door Christian Assembly hosts a Good News Club at St. George’s Preparatory School. The Good News Club is one hour of fun- filled activities which include snacks, singing, memory verses, Bible lessons and a Mission story. Meeting times are Mondays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm during the academic year when school is in session. All students are welcome. Parents who are interested in having their children participate in the Club may register through the school office.

Dance and Arts Ministry

The dance and arts ministry diligently work together with one purpose; to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of dance.
The dance team ministers under the name Divinity which was given to the team leader many years ago, but it wasn’t until 2013, when the leadership changed, that the name was revealed. The origin of the name derives from “Divine” plus “Unity” which equals DIVINITY.
Their goal is not only to minister in our own sanctuary, but to go beyond our walls to evangelize in the community, to set standards and to impact lives and bring change for all generations. The message that we proclaim is that Jesus Christ is ALIVE AND WELL.
We meet every Tuesday night at 6:30pm for dance practice. Every meeting begins and ends with prayer. We recognize that it is an honor and a privilege to be able to come before the Lord and to focus on the ultimate goal; to bring other souls to Christ.
No prior training is necessary. In delivering God’s message through dance, we first avail ourselves to the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit leads, the songs are selected, and in this regard we can deliver the message to those assembled to receive.
During practice there is stretching, group discussions of upcoming events, and concerns. We not only practice for group dances, but for plays, skits, and dramatizations choreographed by our very own team members. We also occasionally collaborate with other outreach dance ministries at various other churches and organizations.
With diligent service, God saw fit to expand our ministry to start a youth Dance Ministry who minister under the name Divinity X 2. The youth dance team is girls between the ages of 5 and 10, meeting every Saturday from 4:30pm until 5:30pm. Even at such a tender age, they are taught to give of their time, treasure and talents; preparing them for service and to also win souls for Christ.

Marketing & Communications

The purpose of the marketing and communications ministry is to spread messages from the Open Door Christian Assembly both internally and externally. The communications ministry strives to keep members of the church informed about various events and activities happening throughout the church as well as promoting services and events outside of the church. The communications team is responsible for maintaining the church website and social media platforms. We aim to consistently provide fresh images and video content providing an inside look at our services, events, and activities. We aim to not only connect with people within our congregation but the wider community as a whole to win souls for Christ.

Womens Ministry

We are “Women Warriors Working for The Kingdom”.   The focus of the Women’s Group is Fun, Fellowship and Friendship.  The Women’s Fellowship meet every other Month on the 3rd Friday of the month.  We meet to sharpen and encourage each other, hear testimony, pray and have fun together.

Our mission is to be women of honor who will place our sister’s needs above our own.  To commit to pray for and encourage each other with that Agape kind of love in spite of our differences and endeavor to always speak words concerning each other that will edify, build up, and support.

Our Objectives are:

1)  To learn the importance of preferring our sister above ourselves. (Romans 12:10)

2)  To grow deeper in God’s love, so that we learn to love one another as Christ loves us. (John 15:12)

3)  To commit to utilizing the gifts that God has given us, to serve others and build up the Kingdom of God.  (1 Peter 4:10)

4)   To endeavor to cultivate lasting friendships as we bond with each other and to always remember to speak kindly concerning our sisters.
