Elder Burgess has been associated with the Open Door almost since its inception when it first held services at Harrington Sound School. In addition to being a member of the Executive Board, Elder Burgess has served as a Sunday School teacher, Substitute Pianist, Oboist, and mentor to those needing financial planning. Presently, he is one of the Team Members of the Open Door Christian Assembly’s Good News Club at St. George’s Preparatory School. Elder Burgess is married to Sis Cindernel Burgess and they have two adult children: Ronelle and Daniel. Elder’s background has been involved with The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), IBM as sales representative, Sun Life of Canada as insurance agent, Now as retired Electronics Technician and Instructor, Elder worked at Bermuda College for approximately 25 years.
Deacon Randy is one of the original six who started the Open Door Christian Assembly on February 17, 1991 and over the years has served in a number of capacities from the Ushers Board, the Deacon’s Board, to the Executive Board where he currently serves as the Church Administrator. Deacon Randy is currently a Permanent Secretary for the Government of Bermuda having served in a number of Ministries in this capacity and was the former Director of the Transport Control Department. Deacon Randy has completed extensive studies in the US, UK, Europe and Canada, and has obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration as well as the Chartered Manager designation. He has represented Bermuda both locally and internationally in a number of sports including Football, Table Tennis and Badminton. Deacon Randy Rochester is married to Sis. Nicole and is the proud father of two children
Deacon Gary Lynch became a member of ODCA in 1994. Since then he has serve as an Usher, Worship Leader and Bible Study Teacher. He is currently a member of the Executive Board, serves on the Building Finance committee, spearheads the Audio/Visual and Men’s Ministries, while mentoring young men and recovering drug addicts. Deacon Lynch is married with children, and is employed at Butterfield & Vallis as the Warehouse Manager of their Consumer Product Division.
Sis. Sheridan (Sherry) Talbot and her husband Quinn have been members of the Open Door Christian Assembly since 1995. In addition to being a member of the Executive Board, Sis. Talbot has served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study teacher, mentor and a member of the Finance and Education Committees. She represents the Open Door Christian Assembly as a board member of Child Evangelism Fellowship Bermuda. She is the Team Leader of the Open Door Christian Assembly Good News Club at St. George’s Preparatory School. A retired educator, Sis. Talbot worked in public education including Bermuda College for a total of 36 years. Currently she is one of the coordinators of a Male Mentoring Programme, which mentors a group of young men attending the two Senior Schools.
Sister Hattie McHardy has been a member of Open Door Christian Assembly since 1996. During this time she has served in Christian Education, Praise & Worship, Liturgical Dance, Intercessory Ministry and currently Church Treasurer.
